Where Can I Find Good Boxing Gyms in Singapore?

There are several serious boxing gyms in Singapore, but as for now , they are quite few and far between. Most Singaporeans prefer to join a big gym and get the benefit of the classes there, but this article will tell you about the boxing gyms that specialise in teaching specific martial arts and boxing techniques in Singapore. When you do look out for these gyms, you need to see what sort of courses they offer. I recently visited one called Combat Academy and they had a pretty good assortment of classes.

Firstly, there have the 'hardcore' look that most of serious boxers are looking for but it is finely balanced with the modern amenities that allow even newbie's to enter and not feel threatened. The courses that were offered were quite special and specific, including tactical boxing, kick boxing, Muay Thai, Krav Maga and even the dangerous and mysterious Brazilian Jujitsu. The art of self defence and martial arts was well covered. The good thing about gyms like these is that boxing and its many forms are a great sport for anyone to get involved in and they give you discipline and teach you self defence to avoid those sticky situations.

The misconception is that it is all about attack and aggression and nothing could be farther from the truth. The thing about boxing and all its forms is that is teaches you to be in control, read the situation and react accordingly. What I learned about boxing and boxing gyms is that it is more a question of keeping a level head and getting out of a situation then moving into one. You are not a tank ready to roll past the enemies, but more like a Humvee, moving in and out of hot spots, tactical yet with some element of power within you. Boxing and all its forms is also an excellent way for anyone to get fit, because a 2 hour session in a boxing gym is the equivalent of a 3 hour cardio and weights session in a normal workout environment. Not only do you burn calories and stay strong, you build lean muscle and learn a new talent at the same time.

The price is also very reasonable and it allows for almost anyone to get started soon enough. They are not in the business of building cage fighters but forming level headed and informed disciplined individuals. Besides Combat Academy, there are quite a few others in and around Orchard Road. The Singapore Sports Academy also provides to the public, at a cost, boxing lessons. As you can see the options are not limited and in the years to come, more and more of these facilities will be built and made available to people in Singapore.

Once you see the benefit of boxing and how it can change your life, you will be thinking about giving boxing gyms in Singapore a try and if you have been doing it for a while, then you will have opportunities to extend your training.

Singapore is a beautiful country located in South East Asia. Besides being well known for its Singapore Tourist Attractions. Singapore also has a lively Sports and Recreation scene.
